Studiocanal on 'Double' duty

Eisenberg Wasikowska Studiocanal has picked up U.K. and Irish rights to Richard Ayoade's "The Double," which Protagonist Pictures is selling in Berlin.Deal was negotiated by Studiocanal's Alison Meese and Berenice Fugard and Protagonist topper Ben Roberts."The Double" stars Jesse Eisenberg and Mia Wasikowska and is based on Fyodor Dostoyevsky's book of the same name.Studiocanal also distributed the helmer's debut, "Submarine," in Blighty last year. Ayoade and Avi Korine co-penned the story of a man driven to a near breakdown by the appearance of his doppelganger.Alcove Entertainment's Amina Dasmal and Robin Fox produce; Andy Stebbing co-produces.
